Recirculation Door Motor -V113-, Removing and Installing, Manual Climate Control System (or Heater without A/C System)
Note
Caution
Problems with the Air Conditioning (A/C) system (heater) function after installing the incorrect version of components
Removing
- Note the general information. Refer to → Chapter "Actuator Information".
- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to → Body Interior; Rep. Gr.68; Storage Compartments and Covers; Glove Compartment, Removing and Installing.
- Free up the wire.
- Release the tabs and remove the bracket toward the rear.
- Remove the actuator -1- from the recirculation door shaft -arrow-.
- Mark the connector and the actuator.
- Disconnect the connector -1-.
Installing
Installation is done is reverse order, observe the following:
- In the event of problems with moisture in the passenger compartment, also check the recirculation door, which must close completely.
- The actuator mount can only be installed on the shaft in the position "recirculation door opened".
- Pry out the connecting element (here the toothed gear -A-) from the actuator to be replaced (or select from the set of connecting elements) and install in the new actuator to be installed. Refer to → Chapter "Actuator Information".
Note
If the gear does not stand the stop, the mount in the actuator must be turned. Note the general information. Refer to → Chapter "Actuator Information".
- Connect the connector -A-.
- Position the actuator on the air intake housing with the recirculation door opened. While doing so, the recirculation door shaft must engage in the mount.
- Mount the bracket on the air intake housing, so that the guide engages into the mount.
- The bracket tabs must audibly engage on the air intake housing.
- Install the wiring harness -F- so that it cannot come in contact with any moving parts (for example, the lever on the motor).
- Install the glove compartment. Refer to → Body Interior; Rep. Gr.68; Storage Compartments and Covers; Glove Compartment, Removing and Installing.
After completing the repair work, perform the following operations on the control head using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:
- Check the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory and delete any currently displayed entries.
- Perform the basic setting.
- Perform output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM).

Removing
- Note the general information. Refer to → Chapter "Actuator Information".
- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to → Body Interior; Rep. Gr.68; Storage Compartments and Covers; Glove Compartment, Removing and Installing.
- Remove the bolts -B-.
- Remove the actuator -A- from the curved washer shaft -F- for the recirculation door.
- Mark the connector and the actuator.
- Disconnect the connector -C-.
Installing
Installation is done is reverse order, observe the following:
- In the event of problems with moisture in the passenger compartment, also check the recirculation door, which must close completely.
- Check the operation and function of recirculation door -C- and the fresh air door -B- by rotating curved washer -A-; while doing this, make sure the pins installed on the levers are seated properly in the grooves of curved washer -A-.
- The mount -F- for the actuator -A- can only be installed in one position on the shaft -E- for the recirculation door.
Note
Turn the mount in the actuator if the mount and the shaft do not align. Note the general information. Refer to → Chapter "Actuator Information".
- Connect the connector -A-.
- Attach the adjustment motor to the air distribution door so that the back pressure door shaft reaches into the mount.
- Tighten the screws -B- to specification (tightening specification: 1 Nm).
- Route the wiring harness -G- so that it cannot come in contact with any moving parts (for example, the actuator lever).
